About Sub Inspector

The sub-inspector is one of the most prestigious posts in the police force whose rank is lower than Inspector and above an ASI or assistant sub-inspector. A Sub Inspector or an SI is in command of some police personnel and its work is to give the command to police personnel like constables, head constables, etc.

Sub Inspector is a police rank in South Asian countries which is based on the British model. It was started by the Britishers and this post was first brought by their police force. Sub Inspector in India is a pure government police rank that comes under the central government.

How to Become Sub Inspector

Nationality

To be a part of the police force as a sub Inspector it is mandatory for you to be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification

For joining as a Sub Inspector in the police force, it is necessary for the candidate to have at least 50% marks in graduation in any field from a recognized university.

Age Limit

To become a Sub-inspector a candidate’s age must be between 20 to 25 years.

For SC/ST and OBC candidates, there will be an age relaxation about which you will get knowledge from the official notification released by your state’s recruiting board.

Exam Pattern for SI

1. Preliminary Exam

After you get the admit card and your examination center you need to give the preliminary exam where you need to answer objective or multiple-choice questions. The exam pattern of this prelims examination is as follows:

2. Mains Exam

4. Medical Test

Once you pass the PET then you need to give a medical test for joining SI. In the medical test Of SI, the commission will check whether you are medically fit or not for the Sub inspector post.

Syllabus for Sub Inspector

The sub-inspectors exam is taken by different agencies in each state.
